Vintage 1920’s framed lithograph by painter Francois Laubnitz. Fr. Laubnitz was actually a pseudonym, and the painter’s real name was Ernst Max Pietschmann. He was German not French, and he painted in the early 20th century. This work was his paean to the glory of motherhood. The print has several water stains to it, 2 on the woman’s arm & 1 on the baby’s leg & rug. Water blister in top left corner. The print is paper on card. The print appears to be original, as the first print were placed on card. Had been in the previous owner’s house since the 30’s. Believed to be the original frame 31 in’s W x 14.5 in’s H. Framed in a wood & soft plaster frame (very distressed now), has missing plaster & crackling all over, fabulous patina. The frame has been stripped, as it was covered in old brown glass paint. Original glass. New stained back board fitted. Taped with new picture tape. Great character to picture & frame. £25.00 P&P from Spain to the UK, at buyers expense.
